In an endeavor to promote Apprenticeship in India, NAPS was launched in August 2016
Program Highlights
12 months Certificate Program
Statutory benefits like PF, ESI, Bonus, etc. don't apply to apprentices
Sharing of prescribed 25% stipend value, subject to a maximum amount of INR 1500/- per month per apprentice
Candidate Eligibility: Minimum education of grade 5th and upwards with the maximum age of 35 years
Benefits to employer under NAPS:
More than 25% saving on wages by the establishments.
Reduction in recruitment cost due to availability of vast pool of trained apprentices
No contribution for EPF, ESI etc. under Apprentices (Amendment) Act.
Apprentices cannot participate in Union activities.
Fills the skills gap that exist within their current workforce as apprentices begin to learn sector specific skills from day one.
Employers can have a training program relevant to their requirements
Apprentices while learning, also contributes towards production.
Expenditure on engaging apprentices more than 2.5% can be booked under CSR liability/funds.
